I highly recommend Ichifuji. The chefs Ichikawa san and Fujita san will give you a memorable, fun, delicious dining experience. My husband and I visited Ichifuji because we were longing for another high quality sushi experience after Soichi’s got too busy keeping up its Michelin guide fame. Thank you again for celebrating Aidon’s birthday and for the best Monday :) We will definitely come back and share this experience with my friends as well as coworkers!

We have been here a couple times to try different seasonal menus and we have had a great experience each time! The chefs are personable and experts in their crafts. We have been to a couple other local omakases, Michelin starred included, however, we keep finding ourselves come back to ichifuji for the great food, atmosphere and service. Highly recommend!

The omakase is such a memorable and wonderful experience from the chefs. I would definitely recommend sitting at the bar. Very unique and creative yet tasty items. Sake is all small batch from Japan and can't be purchased anywhere else. The service is beyond my expectations. Hands down the best omakase experience I've had. They have a different menu for each season. Also have an outdoor dining area for the well behaved pooches.

Amazing. Absolutely wonderful. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was the perfect choice. The food was so fresh and wonderful prepared. One dish - I forget which so I am sorry - I literally said 'what is this witchcraft and wizardry?' Which is dorky but accurate. The place is intimate with the most thoughtful details. The owners (I also forgot their names but the restaurant is a combo of their last names) are so sweet, kind and welcoming. Cannot say enough good things.

I don't usually leave reviews but this omakase was such a 10/10 experience!! My husband and I sat at the bar with sushi chef Hiro. He explained each course thoughtfully and we could tell how much work goes into curating the menu and prepping the fresh food daily. He was such a pleasure to chat with as well! Presentation, taste, service and price point are all superb. It's $160 for the omakase sashimi course but well worth it with how many pieces you get plus dessert. My husband and I both felt full after our meal which isn't always the case for omakase!

Look we had high hopes for Ichifuji and they didn’t disappoint! Hiro and Masato are artists. They walked us through an amazing omakase tasting menu that rivaled the best spots in Japan and Singapore (my favorite sushi spot) and we left with a smile on our face! I’d argue this is the best sushi omakase experience in North America. 10/10 would recommend and we will return soon and often!

We had our 10th year anniversary here. The chefs are the owners! They provided an amazing experience. We've been to different omakase experiences in San Diego, this is the most authentic one!! Lots of Japanese customers and the customer next to us is another omakase chef in San Diego.

Can I give them 17 million stars? First off the, I love the intimate setting and vibe. The service is impeccable as well. And the fish, oh my lord the fish!! It's not just about the quality -- which clearly is not lacking at Ichifuji -- but it's real all about the preparation and seasoning. The portions are perfect and each dish is seasoned just as it should be. Wash it down with a nice cold Asahi on tap or one of their delicious sakes, and you won't be disappointed one bit. I would come here again and again and again!!

We have been to Japan many times and love sushi. Sushi Ichifuji felt like being transported to some of our favorite places in Japan. Wonderful omakase experience, great atmosphere, service, just all around a most perfect experience. We will be back very soon I hope!
